The Ascend Code of Conduct defines the expected standard of behavior for all participants involved in Ascend competitions.

It applies to all individuals, regardless of role - including players, team staff, administrators, casters, and community members.

The purpose is to ensure a competitive environment that is respectful, fair, and aligned with the values of structured and transparent play.

Violations may result in penalties as outlined in Ascend Policies.

General Conduct

All individuals are expected to:

  • Treat others with respect, fairness, and professionalism
  • Contribute to a positive and competitive environment
  • Communicate clearly and respectfully, even during high-pressure situations
  • Act in a way that aligns with Ascend's standards of fair and respectful competition

Toxic behavior, harassment, discrimination, or repeated negative conduct is not accepted.

Competitive Conduct

Participants are expected to compete with integrity at all times.

  • Matches should be played fairly and without attempts to exploit rules or systems
  • Unsportsmanlike behavior, including intentional disruption or griefing, is not allowed
  • Players must follow all tournament rules and respect admin decisions
  • Any form of cheating, match manipulation, or unfair advantage is strictly prohibited.

Competition is taken seriously, but must remain fair and respectful.

External Representation

Participants represent Ascend whenever they take part in matches, streams, or public interactions related to the competition.

This includes:

  • Matches and tournament play
  • Streams and broadcasts
  • Social media and online platforms
  • Community discussions

When participating in Ascend:

  • Communication should remain respectful toward opponents, teammates, and the community
  • Behavior that may harm the integrity or reputation of the competition should be avoided
  • Content and communication should remain appropriate and professional

Team & Communication Conduct

Within teams and tournament environments:

  • Participants are expected to communicate constructively
  • Disagreements should be handled respectfully and through appropriate channels
  • Disruptive behavior or public conflict is not aligned with the goals of the competition

Responsibility

Each participant is responsible for their own behavior.

Participation in Ascend implies acceptance of this Code of Conduct and a commitment to uphold its standards.

Enforcement

If behavior occurs that negatively impacts the competition or its participants:

  • All cases are reviewed by tournament administrators, whose decisions are final.
  • Appropriate action may be taken to protect the integrity of the competition

Actions may include warnings, match penalties, disqualification, or removal from the tournament.

Updates

This policy may be updated as Ascend evolves. Changes are made to maintain clarity, consistency, and a fair competitive environment.
